Haunting enigmatic vocals, languorous and stirring guitar riffs with atmospheric drum beats. Windmill are Mick Dolan and Dawn Williams, two songwriters from Liverpool.
They met when Mick played guitar on a couple of Dawns tracks and they discovered they both loved the likes of Joan Baez, Kate Bush, Neil Young, Nick Drake, Joni Mitchell, Jeff Buckley and Chrissie Hynde.
Birdman is their first release written by Mick and produced by Yorkie for Universal Shoes Productions. It was recorded at Yorkie’s House Of Light studios in Liverpool. They are now concentrating on an album and have started rehearsals for live dates this summer. The track has early support from Dave Monks at BBC Introducing and Simon Raymonde (Cocteau Twins/Amazing Radio)
